While most people can't afford to party exactly like the Queen of England, you can still create a fabulous royal-themed party for any occasion. This fun and unique theme will really make your festivities pop. To get you started, here are 5 ways to build your theme.

Dress Up. Take the opportunity to get out your best attire and pretend that you're going to meet the Queen. British royal parties tend to feature fun accessories that Americans don't use very often—such as hats, fascinators, long gloves, and fine suits. Be sure guests know that dressing to the hilt is encouraged so that they can feel comfortable looking their best. Consider renting a photo booth from a company like Royal Entertainment so you can capture pictures of your guests in fine attire.

Serve British Foods. Of course, you'll want to celebrate the British heritage with thematic food and appetizer choices. Light fare could include chutney, which is a common British condiment served on a variety of base foods. Satisfy your sweet tooth with hot cross buns. Serving a larger meal? Try traditional comfort foods like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, or bangers and mash.

Play Royal Party Games. Any party can have dull moments, so be sure to have some themed party games ready. Hand out royal blue sashes or tiaras and take them away when a guest says the word, "queen", or "royal". Name the royal succession line in order for prizes. Have guests in teams try to explain British slang terms. Not into party games? Have lyric sheets handy for "Rule Britannia" or "God Save the Queen" for guests to enjoy singing as a group.

Have a Tea Party. Afternoon tea is a must-have for a royal party. Scour second hand stores for a mix-and-match selection of bone china pots, cups, and saucers. Then, serve a variety of different teas in this fine serving ware. Scones, crumpets, and finger sandwiches are perfect complements for your tea service.

Treat Your Guests. Make your guests feel like kings and queens by pampering them. Assign waiters and waitresses to cater to their every food and beverage need. Or have some valets park their cars as they arrive. Try offering free chair massages, pedicures, or makeup assistance. Have some fantastic hats—both for the ladies and for the gentlemen—on hand for guests to choose from.

No matter whether your royalty themed party is for a birthday, a special corporate move, or just to celebrate the next royal wedding, it will surely be something you and your guests will never forget.
